Marriage At Cana
Jesus turns the water into wine at the marriage in Cana. The water in scripture symbolizes the word of God. The wine is a symbol for the blood of Christ, just as the bread is symbolized as the body of Christ in communion.
“This cup is the new testament in my blood.” Jesus is introducing the new covenant, the water or the word of God, which was the law before the cross, will be, and was replaced with the new testament, the wine or grace of God through crucifixion, the shed blood of Christ.
Now the wedding at Cana and Jesus turning the water into wine should make sense, it fits perfectly and poetically with scripture. There are many passages such as the lady at the well, that also infer to the water as being the word of God.
